United States College Admissions Cheating Scandal among the Privileged Children of Celebrities
Rocking the national news media outlets in the United States recently has been information about celebrities including Lori Loughlin (who starred on the television show Full House) and Felicity Hoffman (who starred on the television show Desperate Housewives among credits) being caught up in a college admissions process cheating scandal. Felicity Hoffman allegedly payed someone $15,000 to take the SAT for her child and Lori Loughlin payed much more to have her daughter appear to be a recruit to play crew at USC even though she did not really play the sport.
Felicity Hoffman is married since 1997 to acclaimed movie actor William H. Macy and Lori Loughlin is married to famous fashion designer Mossimo so their names have been entwined in the scandals as well. Because of their enormous wealth, both Lori Loughlin and Felicity Hoffman’s bails were set to high amounts (such as around $100,000) when they were apprehended but bail was posted in a timely fashion and they were both released very quickly.
This topic has been so big in the US national news lately and it is just starting to wind down. While Lori Loughlin and Felicity Hoffman might be the most recognizable names, over fifty people have been apprehended in this big event including sports coaches and assistant sports coaches that have enabled this recruiting / admissions cheating process at various colleges and universities. Many of the people may face further trials and court dates and possible prison time.
Many people are shocked by all this and thought that the celebrities involved would have more honesty and integrity than to be involved in this incident. Various uninvolved and notable celebrities have chimed in with their opinions of their peers’ involvement in these deceptive practices including movie actress Julia Roberts who has said that it is better to just believe in your children and their capabilities of making it (to college) on their own.

Actress Emilia Clarke reveals that she has suffered not one but two brain aneurysms requiring surgery, the second one being even more serious than the first and requiring brain surgery through the skull. Some parts of her skull have had to be replaced with titanium because of it. Just today, an internet article for the magazine, The New Yorker caught my eye regarding this. Emilia Clarke wrote the revealing article herself, explaining that it was the year 2010 and she was only 24 years old when she began to have these terrible struggles with her health.
Emilia Clarke gave a brief autobiography regarding the rest of her life as background for this piece in The New Yorker magazine. She explains that while her parents were not incredibly wealthy, she and her brother were able to attend private schools in England and she has known that she wanted to be an actress since the age of three or four years old. She was finding new found fame in auditioning and landing a role in the HBO show Game of Thrones and had just completed working on season one of the show when she suffered the first aneurysm in a public restroom in England and had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. Emilia Clarke’s supportive parents were there for her through her surgeries and she makes mention of her father passing away in the year 2016. What I know so far about Us the Movie
When it comes to movies, I have been saying for the longest time that I am going to start staying far away from the horror genre because that stuff can really get stuck in your psyche. For the most part, I have (stayed away from the horror movie genre that is). Now, I keep hearing all this buzz about the movie Us. Will I ever go to see it? I am not sure. Probably not. It is probably horribly frightening and gory too I guess. Nevertheless, I have been hearing so much about it. Peele, acclaimed director of the movie Get Out that I also have not seen (except for trailers and short movie clips) has also directed the movie Us, starring actress Lupita Nyongo’o , who won a best supporting actress Oscar award for her work in the movie Twelve Years a Slave (I did see that and Lupita had to act in some intensely awful scenes.)
Currently, Lupita is traveling the film promotion circuit and she is just being interviewed everywhere! In a recent interview on Good Morning America, she spoke a bit about her role that she considers her biggest yet because she is playing two parts.
The movie Us is about a family that is being terrorized by a doppleganger family. Yes, each member of the family is being terrorized by someone that looks just like them. On a positive note, Lupita always has many good things to say about the man that plays her husband in the film. She feels that they share an intimate friendship and she had less fear of vulnerability in the film making process while working with him at her side. Lupita reports that her own mom that was visiting from Kenya was reluctant to watch the movie Us and more or less did so with her eyes closed and her ears covered.
In one red carpet interview, Lupita says that one insightful thing that the movie can teach you, is that sometimes our greatest enemies are ourselves. Sometimes, the enemy is us.

Just during the past week in this month of March 2019, famous singer and business woman Jessica Simpson welcomed her third child who she name Birdie Mae. Newborn baby Birdie Mae weighs over ten pounds and Jessica Simpson was very forthcoming with talking about various struggles that she faced during the pregnancy from bronchitis to very swollen feet that she posted photos of on her Instagram account. Her being so transparent helped her fans to find her to be down to earth and relatable.
I check msn.com and yahoo.com internet news headlines regularly and noticed that Jessica Simpson had been in the news, discussing her pregnancy struggles quite frequently. For example, she had to spend over a week in the hospital with the bronchitis on more than one occasion over the course of the last two months of her pregnancy.
I’m happy to learn that everything has gone well for her with welcoming her new baby, Birdie Mae!

ICED COFFEE
ICED COFFEE
I don’t visit Starbucks coffee shop, specifically, very often anymore. When I was in graduate school in Washington, DC, several years ago, I must say that I was an excellent Starbucks customer! While I have cut back a lot on Starbucks, I do still greatly enjoy an occasional iced coffee with whipped cream from wherever. Lol. For example, some really great iced coffee is served at the café at the Greensboro Science Center where I chaperone my sons’ field trips.
Here on the mfmru blog, I have sang the praises of Walmart numerous times because of the great deals that I can get there. I do know a lot of people prefer the smaller retailers and feel like Walmart can have quite a monopoly on business at times but I do love the prices at Walmart.
Here is my latest treat from Walmart Neighborhood Market supermarket. For just $1.88, you can buy a 13.5 oz Great Value brand iced coffee that has a good shelf life with an expiration date about a year away from purchase date.
You can keep these glass bottles of iced coffee in your cupboard or pantry until you are almost ready to drink the iced coffee and then put a few bottles in your refrigerator to let them chill. A few years ago, I used to do this with Aldi supermarket iced coffee as well but I have not been to Aldi supermarket in quite some time. Walmart Neighborhood Market has been my go to place quite recently.
Additionally, in the frozen foods and refrigerated foods sections of Walmart Neighborhood Market supermarket, you can find Walmart’s Great Value brand whipped cream topping for just 67 cents!
I was hesitant the first time I purchased this whipped cream product because some store bought whipped cream products can have an unpleasant aftertaste of chemical artificial ingredients and I wanted to get the most natural tasting whipped cream topping for my iced coffee. At just 67 cents, I recently gave this Walmart Great Value brand whipped topping a try and it is good. I was not disappointed.
So here’s what I do: I like to limit my caffeine intake and I have been meaning to look for some great decaf iced coffee. For now, I pour out half of a 13.5 oz bottle of Great Value brand iced coffee into a repurposed glass mason jar and I add to that some whole milk from a gallon sized bottle of whole milk that I keep in my fridge. Yes, whole milk please. In my opinion, whole milk is so much more creamy and delicious than skim milk.
I then top my iced coffee/ whole milk blend with a scoop of the Great Value brand whipped topping and I have a delicious and filling iced coffee treat. I have been having this iced coffee treat around 3 times a week lately and I eat less food on the days that I indulge in this drink. Maybe you’d like to try it! It is a nice, economical way to enjoy iced coffee!

VOGUE Magazine – 73 questions
I would say that lately, I have been watching YouTube much more than regular television or movie DVDs and one type of video on YouTube that caught my attention is the Vogue 73 questions series where a Vogue magazine interviewer visits a celebrity home and asks 73 questions.
I have seen these Vogue 73 questions video clips for movie stars including Nicole Kidman and Reese Witherspoon, singer Selena Gomez, Chrissy Teigen, wife of singer John Legend and more at this point. The Vogue 73 questions video clips have been quite interesting.
For example, when Selena Gomez was asked about her favorite ideology, she said “Treat others the way that you want to be treated.”
When asked, “What was the greatest gift that you have ever received?” as well as “What is the greatest gift that you have ever given?”, Reese Witherspoon affirmatively answered, “My kids.” for BOTH questions! Gracious Reese Witherspoon offers the interviewer some iced tea and he initially says No thanks. When she elaborates that it is her grandmother’s recipe, he says ok and has a glass of the iced tea. The interviewer’s ‘sidekick’ standing by the pool asks Reese advise about his girlfriend who wants to get married while he feels like he is not ready to take the plunge. She advises him to have an honest conversation with his girlfriend and be prepared for her to leave!
In an interesting and awkward moment, the interviewers asks Reese, “What are you doing tomorrow?” She says, “I don’t know. What are YOU doing tomorrow?” and he says, “I am not here to answer questions.” (!) She brushed it off well with an “Um, ok” expression on her face.
It’s clear that there are a lot of comical moments as the interviewer is leaving and Reese says, “Aren’t you forgetting something?” and he returns her Oscar award to her. She mentions that he wouldn’t be the first house guest of hers that tried to take her Oscar award! Lol.
Nicole Kidman’s interview took place on her very large idyllic farm that she shares with singer Keith Urban and their children and she seemed very happy.
John Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen loves to make banana bread and has been working on writing cook books while John Legend is on tour for his music career. When asked what she has been reading lately, she says that she has not been reading. She has been writing! What is Chrissy Teigen’s pet peeve? People, of course!

Bamboo Grille Restaurant in Greensboro, North Carolina – Restaurant Review
Bamboo Grille Restaurant in Greensboro, North Carolina – Restaurant Review
Bamboo Grille Asian restaurant located on Elmsley Ct in Greensboro, North Carolina is immediately next door to a Subway fast food restaurant and there are many other businesses nearby. The parking lot is large with adequate parking spaces.
My family and I tried food at Bamboo Grille Asian cuisine restaurant for the first time recently.
The booth table furnishings at Bamboo Grille restaurant need some professional cleaning and possible updating. Some of the other furnishings such as the more centrally located tables in the restaurant seemed fine though. I was not particularly impressed with this restaurant. It was just okay. Opening at 11am on the recent Sunday that we visited, this restaurant, Bamboo Grille was practically empty when we first arrived shortly after 11am. Three little girls were playing and walking comfortably around the restaurant. Clearly, they were family members of people that were working there on that day.
Not too long after we arrived at the Bamboo Grille restaurant, the popularity of this restaurant could not be disputed as it began to get very crowded. By noon, every table in the restaurant was occupied! This is something that I have rarely seen at all in this area and I have eaten food at many different restaurants. People toward the front of the restaurant were sitting on benches and also standing as they were waiting for available tables! It was quite surprising. Perhaps the day and time (Sunday around noon) contributed to the restaurant being particularly crowded.
Another thing of note was that the women’s rest room did not contain several stalls but rather, there was only ONE toilet in the rest room. This caused lines to form for the bathroom with some people knocking on the door to the bathroom as they were waiting their turn to use it! I’ve never really noticed that before in a restaurant of that size that can serve so many people. There should definitely be more toilets available there. There is no doubt.
Back in the main area of the restaurant, besides for some old, dingy furniture that I had noticed, most of the area for dining seemed generally clean and welcoming. The waiter was polite as I presented my restaurant coupon to say that we would be partaking of the buy one entrée get one entrée free (BOGO) dining special valued at up to $7.00. He briefly explained with pointing and gesturing, what food menu items the coupon could qualify for and what food menu items the coupon could not qualify for, according to particular columns on the menu. It was very straight forward. Ultimately, we were able to get $7 off our total bill as we ordered California roll sushi for an appetizer for $4.75 and two of the walnut shrimp entrees, each priced at $12.99 and served with fried rice. The prices on the food menu were generally reasonable. There were just three of us there on that day. I went alone with my two sons, so there was plenty of food for us to share around and also bring some home in a container. Our bill of approximately $30 was reduced to approximately $23 with the added coupon and then we gave the waiter a tip.
It was a pleasant time but both the taste of the food and the atmosphere of the restaurant were just average, not better than average, in my opinion. The walnut shrimp had a tasty accompanying sauce and the broccoli florets were very fresh and tasty. The fried rice was okay but I have had better fried rice at some other Asian restaurants. I have also had better tasting California roll at some other Asian restaurants. The California roll from Bamboo Grille restaurant tasted mediocre in comparison to California roll that I have had at some other places. California roll is often a favorite food menu item of mine at Asian restaurants in general. I would recommend Bamboo Grille as a restaurant to dine in but I would not highly recommend it.

The California roll from Bamboo Grille restaurant tasted mediocre in comparison to California roll that I have had at some other places. California roll is often a favorite food menu item of mine at Asian restaurants in general. I would recommend Bamboo Grille as a restaurant to dine in but I would not highly recommend it.

Hwy 55 Fast Food Restaurant Review
Hwy 55 is a fast food hamburger place with a cute interior design reminiscent of diners in the 1950s and 1960s, much like you would find in the old television show Happy Days. There are silver metal chairs with colorful cushioned upholstery, the ever popular black and white checkered tiled floor, pastel pink and aquamarine colors on various decorative items, brightly colored walls and a spacious airy area. With the theme of this restaurant, you might almost expect to find a jukebox playing lots of popular and loud music but there was none. It was quite quiet in there at the time that we went, with no radios or T.V.s playing at all. How about the diners where the staff would move around on roller skates?! No, there was none of that going on but somehow the ambiance of Hwy 55 was reminiscent of those type of restaurant themes. Not cliche, just a fun and friendly vibe. I noticed a decorative sign on the wall at Hwy 55 that said that there is a "50 cents charge for whining". Lol. What an interesting joke, wouldn't you say? No whining or complaining here, just good times apparently!
Using the “Attractions” discount coupon book that I have been talking about relentlessly when blogging, my family and I picked up two Andy’s All-American burgers (with lettuce, tomato and cheese and requesting no pickles) and fries, at a buy one get one free (BOGO) rate at Hwy 55 fast food restaurant.
The cost of one Andy’s All American burger there is $5.39 plus tax and one fries is $1.99 plus tax. We were able to get a second one of each of these two food items for free, with our coupon. We ordered this food to go and found it to be pretty tasty when we got home. It was good. This fast food burger restaurant, Hwy 55 also appears to have much loved milkshakes but we did not purchase any milkshakes or other beverages on this occasion.
This was our first time trying food from Hwy 55. If we return there in the near future, dining-in would not be a bad idea for eating our food while it is still piping hot and most tasty. I also appreciated the clean, spacious and pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant and would not mind sitting down and dining in at Hwy 55 in the future. The location of the Hwy 55 restaurant that we went to is on Elmsley Ct in Greensboro, North Carolina and there are many other establishments nearby including a Bojangles famous chicken and biscuits restaurant, a Wendy’s fast food restaurant, a Starbucks coffee shop, a Subway fast food restaurant and more.
There were many people out and about in the nearby surrounding areas when we stopped by Hwy 55 even though there were only a couple of other people in that particular restaurant, Hwy 55 at the time. It was on a recent Sunday afternoon. If you are in an area where there is a Hwy 55 fast food restaurant nearby, I would recommend Hwy 55 for a pleasant dining experience. I'm such a FOODIE, you guys! I am always ready to write restaurant reviews, discussing the food at new restaurants that my family and I have tried. I really should start a blog just for that niche but I'll go ahead and continue chatting about it here on mfmru.blogspot.com and on HubPages, for now. Today, I'd like to talk to you about Funderburk's Catering.
Funderburk’s Catering is a family owned and operated business in Greensboro, North Carolina. It is said to have been in business since around 1989.
Funderburk’s Catering has locations on North Church Street as well as Americhase Drive in Greensboro, North Carolina. Funderburk’s Catering features ‘soul food’ options such as mashed potatoes, French fries, green beans, sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, corn bread, fried chicken, fried fish and more. I just love to eat some really delicious soul food.
Using a buy one entrée get one entrée free (BOGO) coupon for Funderburk’s Catering, as featured in the Attractions restaurant coupon book, my family and I recently took a quick trip down to Funderburk’s Catering for the first time ever.
We went to the Funderburk’s Catering location that is on North Church Street. The business there has over a 98% rating from the health inspector and upon entering the restaurant, one can see several “Safe Serve” certificates (certifications for serving food safely) are framed and on display. Many of the individuals’ certificates are holding the Funderburk last name, emphasizing how many people in the same family are working at the establishment. There are also some group photos of the staff, adorning the walls.
We went to the restaurant on a Saturday afternoon and thankfully, it was not overly busy or crowded in there at the time. We were there for approximately one hour. Now, the website advertises so many menu selections with meat such as beef ribs and desserts such as coconut cake and banana pudding cake.
Having previewed the online menu, the beef ribs and coconut cake are both items that I had in mind for ordering at Funderburk’s Catering but when we arrived there, unfortunately, no such selections were available. There were no desserts at all and the cashier said that there would be some available “tomorrow”, the day after we were there – Sunday. We had no plans to be returning to that location again so soon. The beef ribs were also unavailable as was the beef stew and any meat other than fried chicken.
Ultimately, we decided to order fried fish entrees. One entrée was fried fish whiting and the other entrée was fried flounder fish. These entrees are each offered with two sides and we selected French fries and macaroni and cheese as the sides for each fish entrée.
Each of these entrees were around $11.99 each and remember, we were using a BOGO coupon. It felt like a great deal. The food portions were generous and the food was truly delicious. The macaroni and cheese was great in a baked style with a cheesy crust that was very tasty. The fish was fresh and had an excellent taste. Customers are also allowed to select from hush puppies, a slice of bread or corn bread for an added bread side. We selected corn bread and the corn bread was light, fluffy and delicious, served warm and wrapped in wax paper as shown in the food photos below.
We have no plans to return to Funderburk’s Catering again anytime very soon, but we were indeed very pleased with the food from Funderburk’s Catering and we will keep the place in mind for some time in the farther future.

This canvas tote can be practical for using in many situations such as going to the beach. The tote bag can also be used as a reusable grocery bag at the grocery store. I love the color. I had not shopped online at walmart.com in quite a while. I just placed a very recent online shopping order at walmart.com and I have already received a portion of it (thanks to free two day shipping!) with Walmart. At this time, orders over $35 on the walmart.com website qualified for free shipping. I spent approximately $98 on this walmart.com order, including tax. I did not buy any clothing items in this particular purchase. The items that I purchased included booster seats for kids, vacuums and fragrance body mist.
In a recent blog post, I gave accolades to Victoria’s Secret Love Spell fragrance body mist spray. As I contemplate shelling out the cash to replenish my stash of Love Spell fragrance spray, I found another cheaper body mist that I was willing to try as I perused the walmart.com website. It is a coconut infused body mist spray by the brand, Bodycology. I received the shipment yesterday and tested the fragrance body spray immediately. Yes, I do like it! It smells great and is marketed as being good to spray as needed for “rejuvenation”. It is the Bodycology coconut hibiscus body fragrance mist. It is definitely a refreshing and energizing type of scent. This Bodycology fragrance spray was on sale at walmart.com for $3.99 for 1 bottle and $7.70 for a two bottle pack. I went ahead and purchased the two bottle pack for $7.70, assuming that I would like it after reading the reviews of the product on the walmart.com website. Thank goodness, I do like it a lot after all! There is also a remarkable cost savings compared to the Victoria’s Secret fragrance spray but the Victoria’s Secret fragrance spray is still my favorite and I do look forward to replenishing it sometime soon.
As far as the booster seats are concerned, our family has our trusty booster seats that we have been using. The problem is that they are gigantic! Lately, we have been in need of much more portable and lightweight booster seats that can be moved easily from vehicle to vehicle so I went ahead and indulged in the convenience of purchasing something in that lightweight category. I wanted to spend the least amount of money possible on such a purchase so walmart.com was my first go-to place to look for this type of product. Behold, jackpot! I found two very lightweight (no-back) booster seats for just around $11.99 and $12.99 each. I thought that those prices were awesome. The brands were Harmony booster seat and Cosco booster seat and I purchased one of each. The Harmony booster seat is black and the Cosco booster seat has a vibrant turquoise washable cover. I like them both and I am very pleased with the purchases. These were awesome deals.
Now, when online shopping at walmart.com as with many other retailers, the items in your order might ship separately. Everything that I mentioned so far arrived at my home yesterday in one big box shipment. The products that I am still waiting for to be shipped separately are two vacuum cleaners. One at a cost of $39.99 and the other at a cost of $20. Both of these were sales prices. The $39.99 vacuum cleaner (by Bissell brand) will be a more heavy duty bagless vacuum and the $20 vacuum will be a very lightweight stick vacuum that seems to promise to be more effective than a broom and dust pan at least. Both of these vacuums have great reviews on the walmart.com shopping website. Some reviewers have said that the $20 lightweight vacuum comprises the best $20 spent in a while! I look forward to receiving it and starting to use it! Both of these vacuums are rated as having very effective suction power to gather up lots of embedded dust and dirt that can be in carpets. I vacuum my home SO frequently and it will be great to use the lightweight vacuum sometimes instead of always pulling out the heavier one. Hopefully, these vacuums will be not just effective but long lasting as well without needing replacement of any parts any time too soon.

The Crooked Tail Cat Café on South Elm Street in Greensboro, North Carolina
Looking for a place to go for a little bit of pet therapy, perhaps? If you are in the Greensboro, North Carolina area, perhaps you might like to consider visiting The Crooked Tail Cat Café. Personally, I am a bit skittish around cats. Something about them makes me a bit uneasy. Maybe it is their very sudden movements, running from here to there. I am also slightly allergic to cats. I am much more of a “dog person” than a “cat person”.
Nevertheless, back in January, my youngest son was invited to a birthday party at The Crooked Tail Cat Café and I just had to let him go because the birthday party was for one of his favorite little friends. My youngest son also loves cats so I knew that he would enjoy himself at The Crooked Tail Cat Cafe.
So, suddenly, there I was hanging out at the The Crooked Tail Cat Café, a place that I never thought I would visit in a million years! It wasn’t so bad at all, though. I had not been around cats in a long time and I was no longer as uneasy around them as I remember being in the past. I did not get too close to them and did not pet them, but I found them cute as I watched from a distance. My youngest son had a great time at the Cat Café with his friends and he did pet some of the cats. My older son and I hung out and waited for the younger one. We had some drinks. The lemonade that is served at the Crooked Tail Cat Café is really good.
There are about ten cats kept at the Cat Café and they are all considered adoptable. The object is for patrons of the Crooked Tail Cat Café to visit, enjoy a drink such as coffee, tea or lemonade and interact with the cats. The cats are not allowed in the back area of The Crooked Tail Cat Café, where the beverages are sold.

Perhaps that was the first time I ever even tried to give a cat a command. Lol. I don’t remember for sure. Remember, I very rarely get in close proximity to cats.

My youngest son also loves cats so I knew that he would enjoy himself at The Crooked Tail Cat Cafe.
So, suddenly, there I was hanging out at the The Crooked Tail Cat Café, a place that I never thought I would visit in a million years! It wasn’t so bad at all, though. I had not been around cats in a long time and I was no longer as uneasy around them as I remember being in the past. I did not get too close to them and did not pet them, but I found them cute as I watched from a distance. My youngest son had a great time at the Cat Café with his friends and he did pet some of the cats. My older son and I hung out and waited for the younger one. We had some drinks. The lemonade that is served at the Crooked Tail Cat Café is really good.
There are about ten cats kept at the Cat Café and they are all considered adoptable. Our favorite appetizer or side to buy from Melt Kitchen and Bar is the duck fat fries. They are so very tasty. The duck fat fries appetizer is priced at $7.50.
Melt Kitchen and Bar can be kind of pricey with their menu offerings but on this occasion, we were using a coupon from the “Attractions” book. This “Attractions” book was sold for $25 as a school fundraiser at my kids’ school and it claimed to offer thousands of dollars worth of coupon savings inside. Of course, we will not get around to using all of those coupon that expire at the end of this year, December 31, 2019. Nevertheless, the coupon book has already paid for itself with several of the coupons that we have been able to use so far and the deals that we have been able to get.
The specific coupon that we have used from Melt Kitchen and Bar offers buy one entrée, get one free (BOGO), up to $10. So, pleasantly, $10 was taken off of our bill. Our bill was for $35 including tax and tip. We drank only water for our beverages and besides for the steak and egg burrito with sauce that is pictured in a food photo below, we also got an order of the duck fat fries and the duck club with duck fat fries as a side. There are several small Mexican grocery stores in Greensboro, North Carolina that also contain sections where you can buy hot, freshly prepared authentic Mexican food. Carniceria El Mercadito, located on Muirs Chapel Road in Greensboro, NC is one such Mexican grocery store.
The hot food selections that they offer are great. I love the generous servings of fresh avocado slices that are placed on the tacos served there for example. I also really like the burritos. I have no food photos available today of the hot foods that I have purchased from Carniceria El Mercadito. Maybe next time. I do have a food photo of a dessert that I purchased at Carniceria El Mercadito, a slice of tres leches cake.
This slice of tres leches cake is truly delicious. I have also purchased it from there in the past. The slice of tres leches cake is adorned with fresh strawberry, delicious and creamy white frosting and wrapped in wax paper to stay moist when a slice of the cake is ordered to go. This cake is very moist indeed and richly flavored with condensed milk, so delicious. At Carniceria El Mercadito, one slice of the tres leches cake is $2.99 and a large whole round tres leches cake is offered at a cost of $25.00. I have not visited the Stumble Stilskins restaurant establishment in-person but I have ordered food delivery from Stumble Stilskins restaurant on one occasion so far. I placed the food order from Stumble Stilskins through the food delivery service company, Takeout Central on a day that they were featuring the coupon code: STUMB for free food delivery. That Stumble Stilskins coupon code offered a savings of $4.99 in Takeout Central delivery charges. I was pleased to try the food from Stumble Stilskins for the first time. There was pleasant food presentation. Everything was packaged nicely, featuring the black and white checkered flag theme of professional racecar driving. Some of the food was wrapped with black and white checkered wax paper, a cute added touch. I love those little clever and creative touches that make a restaurant’s food presentation more unique.

TACO BELL is a super popular fast food restaurant in the U.S. With reasonably priced and flavorful food, what’s not to love about Taco Bell? I don’t eat food from Taco Bell often, though. The last time that I bought food from Taco Bell for my family was about a month ago, ordered through Grub Hub food delivery service. Visiting a Taco Bell in-person is definitely a much better deal since food delivery charges from food delivery service companies such as Grub Hub can be pricey. Sometimes, you can be on the lookout for a coupon code that offers free delivery from Grub Hub.
I took food photos of one of my most recent Taco Bell food orders to show you what food items I love the most from Taco Bell. Right off the bat, I can say that one of my most favorite food products from Taco Bell is the chalupa. The chalupas from Taco Bell are so good. China Express Restaurant on West Market Street in Greensboro, North Carolina is located very close to my home. Sometimes, I stop in at the restaurant to pick up some food to go. On other occasions, I have a China Express Restaurant food delivery person deliver Chinese food items to my door. I do not order food from China Express often but when I do, my favorite food items are the pork egg rolls. The pork egg rolls are currently priced at $1.55 each at China Express Restaurant and with both pick up and food delivery, the pork egg rolls are received piping hot.
Really, the food temperature of all of the food that I receive from China Express Restaurant is always perfectly hot. Got to love that! When you are particularly hungry, this food will really be warming for your belly. Over the years, I have ordered food from China Express Restaurant somewhat infrequently but for today’s restaurant review, I can truly say that I do like China Express restaurant a lot. I’ve already mentioned the pork egg rolls from China Express Restaurant and as I’m writing this, I am also recalling how great the fried chicken wings are. I really like the fried chicken wings from China Express Restaurant.
Lastly, let me talk a little bit about the lunch specials from China Express Restaurant on West Market Street in Greensboro, North Carolina. Currently priced at $6.25 each, you can order lunch specials from China Express Restaurant until 3pm each day. Each lunch special comes with chicken fried rice and an egg roll or a soda. I always choose the egg roll. The chicken fried rice is delicious. The chicken fried rice is flavorful and contains lots of pieces of onion. I enjoy the onion flavor.
The last time that I ordered lunch specials for my family from China Express Restaurant was approximately two weeks ago and I have to say that particularly memorable was the shrimp with lobster sauce lunch special for $6.25.
I love seafood and although I have certainly eaten shrimp with lobster sauce before, this was my first time ordering shrimp with lobster sauce from China Express Restaurant specifically. I was pleasantly surprised at how large the shrimp were. A generous number of fresh tasting and delicious jumbo shrimp were used in preparing this dish and I enjoyed it immensely. New Orleans Bar and Grill Restaurant located in Greensboro, North Carolina – Restaurant Review
After over a decade of living in Greensboro, North Carolina, I tried one popular restaurant for the first time on a recent Friday evening. New Orleans Bar and Grill is popular and often crowded restaurant located across the street from a Hilton Garden Inn hotel and a CVS pharmacy.
Every time we have driven past this restaurant, the colorful purple building has seemed to beckon, promising to be very festive inside and offering enjoyable meal options. We finally heeded the call and decided to visit this restaurant. It was just me and my two sons at a spacious table, ready to take a look at what’s on the menu at New Orleans Bar and Grill and see what foods we could delight in. We went to the New Orleans Bar and Grill restaurant with an $11 restaurant coupon in hand from the “Attractions” restaurant coupon book. The coupon was for buy one dinner entrée get one dinner entrée free, up to an $11 value at New Orleans Bar and Grill restaurant. We knew that we were going to utilize this coupon for sure and were taking a look at menu options to see what we would get.
That Friday evening, we were seeing an advertised food special for “All-You-Can-Eat” crab legs for $49.95 per person at New Orleans Bar and Grill restaurant. While some of the people at tables nearby were indulging in this option, we knew that it was beyond our budget for that particular night. What we decided to get was:
• the fried calamari appetizer for $8.95 plus two adult sized dinner entrees.
• I purchased the rib-eye steak dinner entrée, prepared medium with two sides – french fries and macaroni and cheese for $14.95.
• I also purchased the chicken tenders dinner entrée for $13.95. This entrée was also served with two side dishes and french fries and macaroni and cheese were selected again. (Among several other choices for side dishes was dirty rice, common in Louisiana style cooking.) There were an abundant number of chicken tenders in this adult sized entrée, a generous portion and my two little sons shared it. I also gave them some extra fries and macaroni and cheese from my own entrée.
The mac and cheese was rich, creamy and delicious and the fries were hot and tasty.
All of the food arrived to the table piping hot and delicious. The calamari appetizer was served several minutes before the rest of the food and my older son and I shared that. My younger son did not want to try it. The calamari was very fresh tasting and delicious and the marinara sauce was good.
Warm garlic bread was also served and replenished with a second helping before the dinner entrees of rib-eye steak and chicken tenders arrived to the table.
The waiter was very polite and helpful. We did not purchase any dessert and drank only water as our beverages. We spent $35 including tip on this enjoyable night out to dinner.
There was some pouring rain when we arrived at the restaurant, with the rain dissipating by the time we were ready to leave the restaurant and go home. The front entryway of the New Orleans Bar and Grill restaurant has two long black leather like seating benches for those who might like to sit down. Several of the walls are adorned with mirrors and photos of some of the dishes that are served at the New Orleans Bar and Grill restaurant. Interesting and eye catching is also a wall hanging discussing various types of alligators. Yes, alligator is on the menu at New Orleans Bar and Grill Restaurant but we had no plans to partake of it and we stuck to the plan. I have never eaten alligator in my life. Have you?!
The restaurant is large. The dining table tops are unique and pretty as can be seen in some of the photo.
The steak was really good and tasty A-1 steak sauce was offered for the steak upon request.

The Passion of the Christ (2004 movie) Brief Film Review
The Passion of the Christ was a 2004 film directed by Mel Gibson, renowned Hollywood actor and film director. This film is historically known as one of Mel Gibson’s most major career achievements. With a studio budget of $30 million for the making of the movie, the completed movie earned a whopping $612 million are the box office, according to Wikipedia. The movie, The Passion of The Christ reflects on primarily the last twelve hours before the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
The actor Jim Caviezel plays the role of Jesus Christ in the movie. The movie depicts many events including Jesus Christ’s prayers at the garden of Gethsemane and his being taunted by the devil / demonic entities.
There are some gross examples of an evil entity with a snake crawling out of the nose for example. The entity is curious and intrigued with a “Who is your Father?” line of questioning as Jesus Christ son of God is seen praying to God the Father. Additionally, the movie depicts The Last Supper (Holy Thursday) and the events of the day of the crucifixion (Good Friday).
This movie The Passion of The Christ is considered an epic one of its time. For the year 2004, this movie was groundbreaking in cinematography, special effects and thematic elements among examples.
Many of the actors and actresses that participated in the making of the film The Passion of the Christ spoke of the profound effects that the film had on them. The movie actually brought about conversion of some people. Some participants in the movie became Christians when they were not Christians before.
For Christians, the movie, The Passion of the Christ is graphically illustrative. There are disturbing scenes depicting the scourge of Jesus Christ. Whipped, beaten, flogged with skin tearing open and relentless bleeding, Jesus Christ was tortured tremendously, severely scourged even before having to carry the cross and being nailed to the cross for the crucifixion.
Betrayed by Judas for some silver coins, Jesus is captured / arrested and He is mourned for His enormous suffering by Mary, His mother and his loyal apostles. Mary is constantly there to comfort Him and wipe away his blood with cloths. Depicted in the movie, some of the cloths are provided to her by the wife of Pontius Pilate.
Many Christians watching the film The Passion of the Christ have been moved not just to tears but to hysterical tears by the depiction of the magnitude of the torture and brutality that the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ endured to suffer and then die on the cross for the sins of humanity.
This movie is so violent and so bloody but it really get the message across. With today being Ash Wednesday 2019 (March 6th), this movie is a good one to remind potential audiences of for the Lenten season.
During Lent last year, I purchased this movie DVD from amazon.com and viewed it for the first time since I first saw it in the movie theater in the year 2004, the year of its release. Besides for the unpleasant reminder of just how gory this movie is, it also invites one to reflect deeply.
The movie The Passion of The Christ also depicts the quaking of the ground and the forces of nature that are unleashed as Jesus Christ expires on the cross upon saying that He gives His spirit into the hands of God, His Father.

When money is tight, I shop at Walmart and when money is really, really tight, I shop at Walmart’s clearance section! I am amazed at some of the great deals that I found my past couple of times shopping in Walmart’s clearance section and I would like to share the information about them with you today.
Maxi dresses, tops and jackets are some of the items that I have been able to find and purchase in the clearance section of the Women’s fashion department on the walmart.com shopping website. I have purchased 3 long maxi dresses for approximately $45 altogether including tax and shipping. I have also bought some winter clearance items including a fleece jacket in a pretty blue color for just $6!
I have also bought a bold and brightly colored hot pink puffer jacket for just $6 as well! This was definitely a bargain. I did not think that the hot pink puffer jacket would be my style which is usually understated, not so loud. The hot pink puffer jacket remained hanging in my clothes closet for quite a while after that initial try on upon receiving it in the mail.
Slowly but surely, I started wearing the hot pink puffer jacket that I had first hesitated to wear. It is brilliantly bold but really quite pretty. I ended up liking this jacket and have worn it a few times now.

Sad News about Actor Luke Perry
Sad News about Actor Luke Perry
I definitely took a moment to pause upon hearing the news of the prolific actor Luke Perry’s death today. I am saddened and surprised to learn this news of Luke Perry’s death. I remarked out loud, “I can’t believe it!” Subsequently, I spent the last twenty minutes reading internet news headlines regarding his death and viewing in-memoriam photos regarding Luke Perry’s life, especially his acting life. Luke Perry was said to have lived a mostly quiet life when he was not busy at work in the entertainment industry. He was also the father of two teenage children.
Luke Perry died today at age 52, a few days after suffering a massive stroke for which he was being observed at the hospital. I did hear about his stroke a few days ago and I was hopeful that he would be on a path to recovery soon. Sadly, he has died.
Luke is said to have been surrounded by various family members at the time of his death. Luke Perry was a well-known actor for his role in the television show, Beverly Hills, 90210. It is said to be the specific acting role that made him famous. While I never watched Luke Perry perform in his roles in other television shows and movies making up his body of work for his acting career, I did watch him act in his first prominent role as the character Dylan McKay on Beverly Hills, 90210.
Luke Perry was a good actor that I watched on the television show, Beverly Hills, 90210 during my early teen years. Handsome and talented, I remember him fondly. May he Rest in Peace.
It is only very recently that another beloved famous actor, Kristoff St. John, who starred on the soap opera The Young and the Restless (as the character Neil), died at around the same age as Luke Perry. The news about Kristoff St. John’s death was very saddening for me as well.
Both of these fine actors seem gone to soon in just their early fifties. At the time of his death, Kristoff St. John was speculated to have not fully recovered from the heartbreak that he endured from the death of his own son a few years prior, with that tragic event taking a toll on him.
These two famous talented actors, Luke Perry and Kristoff St. John have left behind family, friends, colleagues and an abundance of fans that held them in very high regard and will miss them greatly!
